Each
piece is hand-crafted in Indonesia using sterling silver,
the inside a brass ball which produces chime-like tones
when shaken. As each one is individually made, the timbre
will vary. Some are inlaid with semi-precious stones
on the top, and worn around the neck on a black silk
cord, packaged in little boxes complete with an explanation.
They are also known as Tibetan harmony spheres or dream
balls. Said to originally be of ancient Celtic design,
they were originally used as meditative devices to commune
with nature. Now they're primarily used for therapeutic,
relaxation or decorative purposes. They are thought
to relieve stress and lower blood pressure.
